Welcome Aboard!

Welcome to the home port of the Sovereign Spirit, a ship of survivors sailing through the Pacific Ocean when the world as we know it is consumed by a virus that turns people into rabid cannibals. These books have been described as Battlestar Galactica -vs- The Walking Dead, or a Star Trek of the Zombie Apocalypse. The adventure begins in Voyage of the Dead (available in paperback and e-books for Kindle, Nook, Kobo, iTunes, etc.). The apocalyptic odyssey  continues in Flotilla of the Dead and Deluge of the Dead. The Sovereign Spirit Saga: Volume 1 is an 800 page trilogy edition that includes all three of the first books at a discounted price.  A collection of prequels, Interludes in Hell, was recently released and includes the thrilling novella Lukan. Volume two of the Sovereign Spirit Saga will launch in 2014. Welcome Aboard and Bon Voyage!

For a limited time only, VOYAGE OF THE DEAD is FREE to download at: Amazon, Barnes and Noble, iTunes, Kobo, and Smashwords, etc…  Don’t miss the boat!  Note: If you don’t have an e-reader, you can download a Free Kindle App for virtually any computer, tablet, or smart phones.

Latest News:David P Forsyth at the Long Beach Comic and Horror Con (Nov. 23-24, 2013)

I’ll be on a panel with several New York Times bestselling authors to discuss the topic “Location, Location, Location” at 1:00pm on Saturday, 11/23/13. The Sovereign Spirit is more than a setting. It plays the title role. And what better place to discuss it than the Long Beach Convention Center?

Much of this website is designed for those who have read my books, other pages are for those who are simply curious..  In short, I hope it offers something for everyone. It’s a new and exciting approach to the zombie apocalypse with as much hope and adventure as horror and dread.

I have a few other projects that might be of interest to authors and fans of zombie and apocalyptic fiction. ApocaCon started at the Long Beach Zombie Walk on Oct 27, 2012 and is growing each year. Join the movement at the Facebook ApocaCon Group and watch for ApocaCon booths manned by apocalyptic authors at more events near you.

ApocaCon panel on apocalyptic fiction at Mysterious Galaxy Bookstore (Oct. 27, 2013). Left to right: Peter Clines, Craig DiLouie, David P Forsyth, Christopher Fennell, “The Angery American” (Big Chris), Saul Tanpepper, Shawn Chesser.

In other news, Outbreak: Visions of the Apocalypse is a collection of apocalyptic stories by 20 great authors, including Hugh Howey, Rhiannon Frater, Craig DiLouie, Sean Liebling, Shawn Chesser, DA Roberts, Dan Williams, Saul Tanpepper, Julie Rudolph, and many more. Each of them contributed their own vision of how a zombie apocalypse would unfold. I was honored to compile and edit this collection which was recently released by Permuted Press. Best of all, the proceeds go to a great charity. Direct Relief International is a top rated medical relief agency. DRI would be on the front lines of any global pandemic, including a zombie apocalypse. So you can feel good about buying this book!

SovereignSpirit.net is an exciting Role Playing Blog where fans can interact with “The Commodore” and other characters aboard the Sovereign Spirit, while joining the online Network of survivors being compiled by Scott’s son Billy.  There you will find entertaining status reports, questions, and messages from readers describing their fictional adventures and predicaments during the Zombie Apocalypse described in my books.

The Toy Box is an interactive Glossary featuring some of the vessels, vehicles, aircraft, weapons and locations described/mentioned in the book(s).  Spoiler warning: the Toy Box is intended as a Companion to readers.   Refer to it as needed while reading the books.
